Bitcoin and blockchain received great attention from financial institutions and investors around the world recently. This talk will give an introduction to bitcoin and blockchain in terms of what they are, their history, how they work, and how to use them. This talk will also explore the disruptive potential of the blockchain technology, and provide an overview of the digital currency market where extreme speculation drove 36x return in the last four months.
Dr. Ansel Teng received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland at College Park. Dr. Teng’s professional experience includes: research scientist at NASA Jet Propulsion Lab, VP of Engineering at eToys.com, and VP of IT at Capital Group. He has been working on the business application of blockchain technology for the last two years and received a certificate from the MIT Fintech program. Dr. Teng is currently an independent consultant.
